Second Reflection on ICT integrated lesson

On 21st August, 2019 in the first period, I taught class six Mathematics on finding area of Triangle. Before the session the materials were set ready to carry out the lesson effectively. The lesson began with asking what is triangle and types of triangle. Then also revise the last lesson on area of parallelogram. Children share their knowledge of triangle and the last lesson. We stress on the area of parallelogram and the formula A= b x h.

The lesson developments activities begin with attention grabber and followed by instruction for the activities. There were three activities included in the lesson as per the plan. First activity they watched the clip through laptop. I didn’t use the projector as we have less number where they can be comfortable with computer. Then they shared what they understood from the clip and the last they solved the questions from practicing and applying.

After watching the clip when I listen to each child their sharing they did great job. Many they got concept very clearly that area of triangle is ½ of bh. At the same time they could solve the questions correctly.

By making the use of ICT in the lesson, I have found many children take interest in learning through discussion sharing and so on. They also improve visual skills and on top of that they enjoy the teaching.

  4. Concrete materials are needed to provide clear concept especially in mathematics subject. You did it but I think if you use projector it would have help students to see better pictures. Students may be felt congested with one laptop.

  6. Well planned lesson. Since you have used only one computer I doubt that how your children might have got option to use practically given the limited time of our session. Anyway I found it was interesting lesson and your children ave graved lots from the lesson.

  8. It seens you had fruithful lesson as it is evident from the post. You have used attention grabbers in between the lesson to kill their boredom which is one of the strategy to keep them awake. It is a good idea. On other hand, your children are fortunate that they will have more exposure to ict as you have less number of students in the class. Keep going.

Once I used to thi k that only rhymes and anything to do with song and music can be interesting through ICT when it was quite not famous in our country but now everything seems to be very interesting through ICT.
I am also planning to do my second blogging on a lesson on Mathematics and going through your success story I know it will definitely work with mine.
    Great job.

  14. I think with the help ICT our students might improve the level of their understanding in mathematics, and will come up with great out come too. Till date mathematics seems to be the toughest subject for our Bhutanese students especially classes four and above but now if each and every one of us could integrate ICT in our maths class it will surely help our learners la... Well done and kind of motivation for us too
